The journey isn't becoming someone new.
It's remembering who you've been all along.

We built the retreat we spent years looking for and could never quite find.

Together, we've spent over a decade studying healing, embodiment, storytelling, yoga, and spiritual practice, and created the retreat we wish had existed when we needed it most.

We've both come to Bali seeking answers of our own and found something far more valuable: a way of living that honors stillness, community, ritual, and the courage to become more fully ourselves.

We live here, practice here, and are deeply connected to the teachers, traditions, and community that make this experience possible. For five days, our role is simple: to create a space where you can stop holding everything together and begin listening to yourself again.

We'd be honored to welcome you.

Beyond Bali: The Art of Sacred Living

Five Days of Yoga, Healing, Ceremony, and Cultural Initiation in Bali

October 14th-19th, 2026 · Ubud, Bali · Limited to 14 guests

Bali, The Island of the Gods

There is nowhere on Earth quite like it.

Bali means offering. Ubud means medicine. Bali is one of the few places on Earth where the sacred is alive through daily practice.

In Bali, offerings are placed five times a day — at doorways, at temples, at the feet of statues, at the edge of the sea. The sacred is not reserved for special occasions. It is the rhythm of daily life. As Bali's cultural, artistic, and spiritual heart, Ubud offers medicine for the body and soul.

Welcomed by Ubud residents and founders of Beyond Retreats, this 5-day retreat immerses you in Bali's spiritual ecosystem. It is a container — held with intention, designed for depth.

Through yoga, reflection, ceremony, energetic healing, and immersion in Balinese spiritual tradition, you will leave this island knowing something that cannot be learned anywhere else: what it feels like to be fully, completely, wholly yourself.

This is where you remember that you were never broken. Only separated from parts of yourself that were waiting for you to return.

A deposit of $1000, fully refundable until July 31

Perhaps You've Been Feeling...

You've spent years becoming who everyone needed you to be. You did it well — and that's the problem. Somewhere in all that capable, dependable performing, parts of you got left behind, and lately there's a sense that you've been living beside your life instead of inside it.

You're not in crisis. You've probably done the work — the therapy, the books, the years of classes — and you know you've outgrown what another workshop can give you.

This is not an escape from your life. It's a return to it — not a spa week you float through and come home from unchanged, but five days built to cultivate wholeness and change how you live.

  • Do you feel like you've been holding everything together for everyone except yourself?

  • Are you exhausted from being constantly "on" — struggling to switch off, rest, or simply breathe?

  • Are you moving through a transition — in work, love, identity, grief, or simply the season of life you're in — and craving space to hear yourself again?

  • Do you have everything you're supposed to want, but still feel disconnected underneath it all?

  • Have you been doing the work for years and know you're ready for something deeper than another class or workshop?

  • Do you sense there is more for you — more depth, more joy, more aliveness — and feel ready to discover what that means?

  • Do you feel drawn to Bali, even if you can't fully explain why?

  • Are you ready to stop performing your life and start inhabiting it?

We get it. We've been you. We see you — as a real person who is genuinely ready, even if "ready" just means something in you keeps coming back here.

If you found yourself in any of these questions, this retreat may be exactly where you're meant to be. And if what you're carrying isn't listed here, we'd still love to hear from you.

The Retreat Home

Your days unfold in a space designed for intimacy and depth: an open-air yoga shala with the jungle breathing around it, a pool for quiet restoration, an infrared sauna, an ice bath, and a fire pit where the group gathers under the stars.

Your home for five days is a boutique retreat space in the heart of Ubud — intimate, beautifully appointed, and held with genuine care.

Intentionally small. Every element — the food, the practices, the ceremonies — is chosen to facilitate deeper connection with self.

The most magical place. Food was delicious and varied. Staff totally amazing and couldn't do enough. Spotlessly clean. It was just fabulous.

It felt like a home away from home. The staff feel like family. The pool is a haven I never wanted to leave. I left on cloud nine.

The Journey

Each day of the retreat moves through a sacred theme: Root. Heart. Purification. Celebration.

This is not a schedule.

It is an unfolding.

Daily meditation, yoga, self-reflective practices, and cultural immersion all guide you back to yourself, helping you find newfound clarity and inspiration. The storytelling workshops offer a playful way to see and reshape the stories that guide our lives and build on the inner knowing cultivated in the Empowerment Yoga sessions.

Day 1 — Root

In yoga, Muladhara — the root chakra — is the foundation of the body's energetic system, governing safety, stability, and belonging. Without root, nothing above it can open.

In Balinese cosmology, kaja and kelod — the sacred mountain and the sea — orient every home, temple, and ceremony. To be oriented is to be rooted in a sacred world. It is a spiritual act.

In our morning Root to Rise practice, every pose is built from the ground up. Whatever part of the body is in contact with the earth is the source of stability. We arrive into the body, into the breath, into the ground beneath us.

In the afternoon, we honor the tradition, the land, and the spirits that hold us for this retreat by learning the art of Balinese offering-making — Canang Sari — and we will carry our offerings to the temple by the River Carvings.
After dinner, a gentle Root & Restore practice prepares the body and mind for deep, restful sleep.

Day 2 - Heart

The heart chakra, Anahata, is the energetic center of the yogic body — the bridge between the physical and spiritual self. It is the seat of compassion, vulnerability, memory, and emotional truth.

In Balinese tradition, the heart is understood relationally — never in isolation. Tri Hita Karana, the foundational Balinese philosophy, teaches that wellbeing exists only in right relationship with the divine, with other people, and with nature.

This day is dedicated to listening — not to the "shoulds," but to your heart, and to the desires it's been quietly asking you to honor. The morning practice of Empowerment Yoga opens a deeper conversation with self, setting the stage for the self-reflection and journaling practices that follow.

Then we’ll explore archetypes, universal patterns — identities we give ourselves and others see in us — and how they can help guide us to the truest expression of self. What does life look like when we honor and build our lives around that?

The evening closes with an embodied Cacao Ceremony — restorative yoga, sound healing, and intention-setting woven into one.

Day 3 - Purification

Yogic tradition speaks of shaucha — purity — as one of the foundational ethical observances. Not as moral judgment, but as the practice of clearing what no longer serves clarity: in the body, the mind, the energetic field.

In Bali, purification is not metaphorical. It is water.

Melukat is one of Bali's most revered ceremonies — a literal cleansing that returns the spirit to its original clarity. Balinese Hindus believe that without this clearing, nothing new can take root. Guided by a Balinese High Priestess, the ceremony calls in what needs to come — and releases what has been ready to go.

In the afternoon, we turn to rewriting the story of self. What are you creating?

The day closes with Angelic Reiki and sound healing.

Day 4 - Celebration

In yogic philosophy, ananda — bliss — is not the absence of struggle but the natural state that emerges once what is false has been cleared away. Bliss is considered the truest nature of the self, always present even if it has been obscured.

In Bali, celebration is sacred practice, not separate from spirituality but an expression of it. Ceremony, music, offering, and joy are inseparable in Balinese life — ngayah, the spirit of joyful communal service, runs through everything from temple festivals to shared meals.

This is where the retreat completes its circle — not by ending the work, but by remembering that joy was always part of it.

The practices focus on joyful integration. And the evening closes with Kirtan & Fire Ceremony.

Will I feel different after the retreat?

By the final evening, perhaps something has settled. Not every question is answered. But you're not performing anymore — not holding everything together for everyone else to see. You laugh more easily. You notice your own breath without trying to. You remember things about yourself you'd forgotten — and maybe found a few new ones too.

The cacao ceremony. The fire pit. The faces of the people who made this journey with you.
Somewhere in you, you already know — you won’t walk back into the exact same life you left.

Somewhere in you, you already know — you won’t walk back into the exact same life you left. Because you're going back rejuvenated, more alive, more whole, and more fully yourself — and just that — changes everything.

Why a retreat?

A regular yoga class gives you an hour. A holiday gives you a break. Neither gives you what five uninterrupted days can give you: the time and structure to arrive somewhere new in yourself.

Some things can't be seen from inside them. Your life is one of them.

Healing, empowerment, and restoration don't happen on a deadline, and never happen while you're answering emails. They happen when the noise stops and quiet is embraced.

This isn't about adding one more wellness habit to your life. It's about stepping outside the noise, the roles, the relentless forward motion — long enough to remember who you already are.

Picture the version of you who arrives — the one who's been holding it together, running slightly ahead of yourself, answering everyone's needs but your own, who can't quite remember the last time you felt simply at ease in your own body.

Now picture five days later.

Slower exhale. Steadier eyes. You have stopped performing being fine. Maybe you have cried, felt relief, and started being exactly where you are. You won't leave a different person. You'll leave more fully the person you were before life asked you to perform something else.

More About Experiences

Anna Curran headshot

Anna Curran

Screenwriter, Entrepreneur & Yogi

Anna is a screenwriter fascinated by the stories we live inside — the ones we absorb, perform, and mistake for the whole truth of who we are. Through the lens of Jungian psychology and the archetypes we each carry, she helps people see the roles that have been running them, and the parts of themselves those roles left out.

She came to yoga not as exercise but as embodiment — a way of gathering back what the mind alone can't reach. A devoted student with over 400 hours of training in power yoga, yin, and embodied feminine work, she built this retreat because the one she needed didn't exist.

Bali called her here, and it's where she now makes her home — in the center of Ubud, with her Balinese family and far too many angora bunnies.

Her work, on screen and off, asks the same question: what happens when we stop performing the story we were handed and begin remembering who we've been all along?

That return to wholeness is the journey she is devoted to guiding. Because sometimes the deepest transformation isn't becoming someone new. It's remembering that you were never broken to begin with.

Erin Hayes headshot

Erin Hayes

Angelic Reiki Master Teacher, Sound Healer & Empowerment Yoga

Originally from London, now rooted in Ubud, Erin turned to yoga seeking recovery strategies from a life in stage acting and found in it something performance never gave her: a way to drop beneath the noise and meet herself with full presence.

More grounded, more connected, and more wholly herself than she'd believed possible, she realized that this return to self was the work she wanted to devote her life to.

Weaving together yoga, Angelic Reiki, sound, and somatic practice, she creates spaces where the nervous system can finally settle and awareness can open — where people often experience, sometimes for the first time in years, what it feels like to be fully present in their own bodies.

Wholeness isn't reserved for the healed, the ready, or the already-complete. It's available now. In this body. In this breath.

She lives in Ubud with her two pups, Pebbles and Bam Bam, and wouldn't have it any other way.

Check-in 3:00pm - 6:00pm
Check-out is at 11:00am

Flights. Please arrange your arrival into Denpasar (DPS) by 1:00pm — this allows time for the 2-hour transfer to Ubud, so you arrive at the retreat home comfortably within the 3:00–6:00pm check-in window.

Arrival. If traveling from the United States or United Kingdom, plan your departure no later than October 12th to arrive comfortably on time. We are happy to recommend accommodation in Ubud for the night of October 13th.

Departure. Suggested flight departure time: after 4pm on October 19th. Hotel check out is 11am. It takes about 2 hours to drive to the airport and arriving at least 2 hours before international flights is recommended. Please note: driving time on Google Maps and Apple Maps do not take into account one way roads, ceremonies, congestion and other factors, so it's not always a reliable measure of timing.

Getting from the airport to the venue. The drive from the airport to Ubud takes approximately 2 hours. Our driver will meet you at the airport. Your arrival transfer is included. Return airport transfers or to your next destination can be arranged at an additional cost.

Visas. Most nationalities receive a free 30-day visa on arrival in Indonesia. Please check the requirements for your passport at https://visa.imigrasi.go.id before travel.
